MAC Paraná presents the solo show by Thalita Hamaoui
This Tuesday (28), at 7 pm, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Paraná (MAC) opens the solo exhibition entitled “a terra e o devaneio da vontade”, by visual artist Thalita Hamaoui, curated by Priscyla Gomes. The title refers to the work of the same name by the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard, published in 1948. The museum, which temporarily operates at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum (MON), hosts the exhibition in Room 09.
Thalita Hamaoui graduated in Fine Arts from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP) in 2006. Her works have been exhibited in several renowned institutions, including the Foley Gallery in New York and the Centro Cultural São Paulo. Hamaoui’s paintings, full of vivid colors, reveal a singular elaboration, they are not constructed by observation, but by sensory remnants of his memories.
According to Priscyla Gomes, curator of the exhibition, “a terra e o devaneio da vontade” establishes a parallel with Bachelard’s work, proposing a journey through perception. Bachelard’s philosophy is reflected in Hamaoui’s paintings, highlighting the importance of physical interaction, manipulation and exploration of the Earth.
Regarding the works on display, Gomes states: “in these landscapes there is a lack of discernment between night and day, between what is vegetal, what is aquatic and what is earthy. Everything is mixable and complete, in an ecstatic fusion of golden tones.”
Hamaoui’s exhibition is an invitation to sensorial immersion, an intersection between visual art and philosophy that materializes, through his daydreams, his perception of the Earth.
Opening: Tuesday, 11/28, at 7pm, in room 09 of MAC at MON.
Free entry on opening night.
From 11/29.
